Things You Need to Know Before Renting a Charter Bus

Posted on

Renting a charter bus is a great way to transport a large amount of people for the most affordable price possible. There are many people that rent these buses and have been pleased with the results. For instance, schools, sports teams, churches, family reunions, and so much more have rented buses to get people where they need to go. Here are some things you should know about a charter bus rental.

What Does a Charter Bus Have?

Charter buses have many amenities to make the travelers comfortable. First, you can choose the size of your bus. You can usually get anywhere from 35-60 people seated on the bus depending on which model you rent. There is generally a bathroom on the bus, a DVD player, comfortable padded seats, and air conditioning. In addition, there is extra storage space under the bus so that there is plenty of room under the bus for everyone to bring their luggage. This makes the bus ideal for even cross country trips where people need to bring a large suitcase.

Do You Need to Find Someone to Drive the Bus?

Usually when you rent a charter bus you will also reserve a driver. This is one of the biggest perks, since driving a bus this large takes education, training, and a special licensure. If you plan to drive throughout the night you can be assured that the bus company has planned for this. You may have one driver take you for 8 hours, then switch out in with another driver to do the other 8. This way no driver is driving the bus for too long and risking the lives and safety of everyone in the bus. Talk to a rental company like Barrington Transportation Co about the length of your trip and they will work out the driver.

Can You Take Food on the Bus?

In most situations you should be able to bring food on the bus, but you will have to check with each individual rental company. Because the buses are equipped for long distances, they know that people will need to be eating while they drive and have made the bus able to store overhead storage, much like in an airplane, so that you can take bedding for sleeping (if applicable) and food. As for alcohol you will need to check with the each individual bus line.

By knowing these things you can confidently rent a charter bus.
